Town Issues Dual Health Alerts on Salmonella Risk and Baby Wipe Recall
NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH — State and local officials pushed out two consumer health warnings Friday — one tied to a multistate Salmonella outbreak linked to moringa dietary supplements, the other a retail recall of baby wipes over microbial contamination — making public health the dominant story of the day.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is alerting consumers, retailers, and clinicians about Salmonella outbreaks connected to recalled moringa-containing products, including powders, capsules, and other dietary supplements. The town's News Flash, posted Friday morning, urges anyone who has purchased these products to verify whether they are subject to recall and to consult a health care provider if they are experiencing symptoms.
In a separate consumer alert posted the same morning, Target's Up & Up Fragrance Free and Up & Up Fresh Cucumber Scented Baby Wipes have been recalled over potential microbial contamination. Senior Center Director Karen Testa announced a Summer Fan Drive aimed at getting free fans into the hands of local seniors who need help staying safe and cool during hot weather. Residents who have fans to donate, or seniors who need one, are encouraged to reach out to the Senior Center directly.
Contractors planning landscaping, construction, or agricultural work can purchase bulk screened compost from the town at $10 per cubic yard for orders of 20 yards or more through the composting facility.
