North Attleborough School Committee approves over $298,000 in FY20 grants and gifts

NORTH ATTLEBORO — January 14, 2020 — North Attleborough School Committee approves $297,884 in grants and a series of smaller community gifts at its January 14 meeting. The committee voted unanimously to accept the FY2020 grant package along with donations including $1,000 from the Hockamock YMCA Stop and Shop Family Foundation to expand the district's school-based food pantry through June, $500 from Chestnut Hill Realty, $363.10 in Box Tops for Education funds for Jackson School's lending library, and $139 from Voya Financial for the Music in the Parks program. Superintendent Dave reported that administrator Ed Clark had accepted a position with the Bristol Warren Schools in Rhode Island, with an interim search underway and a full search planned to begin in March. Building updates included a boiler project described as 95 percent complete, LED lighting installation set to begin the following week in the A-Wing, and new cafeteria tables expected January 24 at the adjacent building, pending a surplus declaration for the old ones.
